Andre Drummond joins Lakers before Play-offs

Andre Drummond has announced his decision to join Los Angeles Lakers before the play-offs. With Andre coming into the fold, the Lakers got a 2-time All-Star Centre in their team just an hour before the much-anticipated match against Orlando magic. Drummond’s announcement came through his official Instagram account accompanied by his photograph in Laker’s dress.

According to Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka, Drummond will give the much-needed powerful and anchor point skill to Lakers on both ends of the court. As per Rob, the Lakers would be able to defend the NBA title with the help of Andre Drummond.

Four-time NBA rebounding champion Drummond made the shift from Cleveland Cavaliers, who had bought him last year after about eight seasons in Detroit. Drummond has to clear his waivers before joining the Lakers, but Drummond chose the defending NBA champions in hope of winning the title this year for himself.

The Lakers boast of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and several other stars and are the favourites to win NBA this year too.

Drummond has appeared in eight playoff games and has lost all eight but it would be a different story with Los Angeles Lakers.

Drummond has averaged 13.5 rebounds, 17.5 points, and 2.5 assists in the total 25 starts he got for Cleveland Cavaliers and hasn’t played since 12th February because the manager benched him to give more playing time to young energy Jarrett Allen.

It would be interesting to watch Drummond playing for the Lakers in the playoffs…

Coach Frank Vogel is really hopeful for his team and he’s looking forward to playing Drummond under his command.
